Class Announcements
IMPORTANT

NOTE FROM MRS. STEFFANNI:  IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION FROM STAFF THAT SEVERAL SENIORS HAVE BEEN E-MAILING BOTH ENGLISH AND GOVERNMENT ASSIGNMENTS BACK AND FORTH AS WELL AS COPYING FROM THAT WORK AMONGST EACH OTHER.  THIS CHEATING IS UNACCEPTABLE.  IT IS STATED IN THE CLASS CONTRACT FROM DAY ONE OF THIS COURSE THAT ANY DUPLICATE ASSIGNMENTS OR CHEATING WILL RESULT IN ZEROES FOR ALL INVOLVED.  I AM GIVING YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME TO ME FIRST BEFORE THIS ALSO BECOMES A DISCIPLINE ISSUE.  FOR NOW, I WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING ANY WORK FROM SENIORS ELECTRONICALLY (BESIDES RESUMES); EVERYTHING WILL BE HANDWRITTEN.  ALSO, NO WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED PAST THE DUE DATE IN THIS CLASS UNTIL THE STUDENTS EMAILING ASSIGNMENTS BACK AND FORTH COME FORWARD. ALSO BE AWARE THAT IF YOU DO NOT COME FORWARD, I WILL DO MY BEST TO SORT THIS OUT MYSELF WITH THE HELP OF MR. GRAVER, MR. JAMES, AND MR. HORROCKS (AS WELL AS THE STAFF MEMBERS WHO ARE BRINGING THIS TO MY ATTENTION).  I WILL GO BACK TO ALL OF THE ASSIGNMENTS THAT I HAVE KEPT IN MY FILES AND CHECK THROUGH STUDENT WORK FOR MATCHING ASSIGNMENTS THAT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN GRADED IN THE SAME BATCH, AND I WILL GO BACK AND CHANGE GRADES IF I HAVE TO.  ALL THAT CAN BE AVOIDED IF THESE STUDENTS COME FORWARD NOW.  UNTIL THEN, BECAUSE I’M NOT SURE HOW FAR THE CHEATING RING EXTENDS, EVERYONE HAS TO SUFFER (UNFORTUNATELY).  I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED IN MY STUDENTS.  TO THOSE STUDENTS WHO DID NOT DO THIS, I’M SORRY THAT YOUR CLASSMATES RUINED THE TRUST THAT WAS IN THIS CLASSROOM.

Wednesday March 17 Directions
1. Read pages 55-61 in the novel; you will be assessed over the reading tomorrow.

2. Complete DLA3.17.10 under Class Files and turn in (be sure to SAVE).
Monday March 15 Directions
1. Complete DLA3.15.10 (UNDER CLASS FILES); turn in through the drop box under Class Assignments (by clicking on the assignment name) or EMAIL to me.  (MAKE SURE TO SAVE A COPY.)

2. Complete Monday Novel Reading (UNDER CLASS FILES); turn in through the drop box under Class Assignments (by clicking on the assignment name) or EMAIL to me.  (MAKE SURE TO SAVE A COPY.)
Grades
I started to enter in grades on Sunday March 7; however, Progressbook went down shortly after I began entering in grades.  The only grades that stayed (I believe) are the No Escape Blog Response; in either case it should be noted if you turned in the assignment or not in the comment section.  Hopefully, Progressbook will be up and running by tomorrow (Monday) and I can get grades reentered.  Be patient; this is beyond my control.
Easy Extra Credit Opportunity
We are currently running very low on tissues in the classroom. As a result of this need, I am going to offer 5 extra credit points to anyone who brings in a box of tissues to the class for use. You may bring a MAXIMUM of TWO BOXES of TISSUES for a TOTAL of 10 EXTRA CREDIT POINTS. You have until Monday, March 22 to do this, if you choose to participate in this opportunity.
Extra Credit Blog
There will be no extra credit blog this week.  A new one will be posted on 3/7/10 if you choose to participate.
Turning in Your Vodcast
Your vodcast must be a finished video product (see instructions under Class Files) and copied to your P Drive in order to be graded.  I will go over this in class and instructions are under Class Files.  If you need help, you must see me.  This is the only way for me to grade your vodcast.
THIRD PERIOD NOTICE
WHEN MRS. STEFFANNI IS NOT IN CLASS, STUDENTS ARE NOT TO TURN IN WORK FOR ANY REASON.  ALL WORK WILL BE COLLECTED BY ME UPON MY RETURN.   THE STUDENTS ARE AWARE OF THIS AND WILL SHOW THIS MESSAGE TO ANYONE TRYING TO MANDATE THEM TO TURN IN AN ASSIGNMENT.

THANK YOU,
MRS. STEFFANNI
English Supplies
The following is a list of basic supplies you will need for this course.

2.  Folder or Binder (Either are acceptabe)
3.  Notebook or Loose paper (Either are acceptable)
4.  Flash Drive/USB Drive (Optional but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - no amount of memory is specified.  This device is used to back up, transport, etc. files for class projects and assignments.  It is quite possible to attain the grade of 'A' without this device, but it does make things easier for students.)
